what is Paint Correction?

Paint Correction is the process of leveling paint to remove most if not all scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, and restores paints gloss and shine. At 48 Detailing we focus on two forms of paint correction the one-step and the two-step, using Dr. Beasley's Nano Surface Primers over the competitions outdated polishes.

The Simplified Paint Correction Process

Step 1: Pre Inspection

Step 3: Post Inspection

Step 1: Pre Inspection

Before correcting paint we must inspect it and see what type of damage needs to be removed. Panel by panel we inspect the surface and take note of defects that are reducing the gloss and shine of your vehicle and then pick the correct machine, pad, technique, and primer to tackle the job.

Step 2: Restore

Step 3: Post Inspection

Step 1: Pre Inspection

We then start the restoration process which depending on size and condition of vehicle can take anywhere between 4 to 40 man hour to achieve desired results. Section by section we polish, inspect, and repeat until the whole vehicle is completed.

Step 3: Post Inspection

Step 3: Post Inspection

Step 3: Post Inspection

After the whole vehicle has been restored we then perform a final inspection in order to make sure no spots have been missed. We then clean out all kooks and crannies of any primer & polish residue so the vehicle can get a ceramic coating or PPF applied to protect all the hard work and time spent restoring the paint.

"technology is only as good as the technician"

Did you know that traditional paint correction products and methods detailers have been using for years cause more damage to your vehicle then add protection.  That's right the act of "correcting" or "polishing" paint removes layers of clear coat from your vehicles already delicate painted surfaces. And with modern paint becoming thinner and cheaper every year, why do detailers continue to do this? Well for the longest time it was the only way to remove swirl marks, scratches and enhance gloss and shine, until now.

At 48 Detailing we believe we should not only be perfecting your vehicle but adding thickness and protection every step of the way. Our team works side by side with the surface technology innovators at Dr. Beasley's who have pioneered the first ever Nano Surface Paint Priming System Referred to as the NSP line. Rather then using old  DAT (Diminishing abrasive technology) and SMAT (Super micro abrasive technology)  that have inconstant cutting and finishing abilities which result in removing massive amounts of clear coat, the NSP line uses MSA (microsphere abrasives) made from ceramic and titanium carefully engineered and controlled in size down to the micron level to achieve a precise cut that minimizes the amount of clear coat removed and maximizes gloss.

Not only are our abrasives far more precise, but there carrying agent plays an even bigger roll. Traditional polishes use carrying agents like silicone, waxes, and organic oils to move the abrasives around the paint. Sadly these forms of carrying agents temporarily fill scratches and swirl marks giving you false results, not true restoration. Further more these organic oils and waxes prevent protection agents like sealants and ceramic coatings from bonding to the painted surface, resulting in premature coating failure. Our NSP line of products use NanoGel Technology, free of organic waxes, oils, and silicones which allows our trained and certified detailing technicians to evenly distribute NSP microsphere abrasives evenly creating a better finish and cooler surface temperatures.

Most importantly NanoGel is derived from the same ceramic nanocoating base used to in our Dr. Beasley's  ceramic coating applications, so as our detailing technicians perfect your paint they are adding layers of ceramic nanocoating to your painted surface increasing the thickness of your paint rather than decreasing it. This provides our ceramic coating installers the perfect surface to install any SIO2 & TIO2 based coating to the surface increasing gloss, shine, depth, and most importantly protection.

After correcting you paint, we recommend to protect it for years with our warranted ceramic coatings. Protection ranges from budget friendly 1 year coatings to the thickest and longest lasting coatings in the world lasting 25+ years.
